Representation- Female artists

The represntation of female artists tends to be based more on their looks than on their actual talent. Society today creates an enviroment where everyone is focused on what the next fashion, and new look of the hollywood world.
A good example for this theory is in the class when we were showed an extract from Britains got talent of Susan Boyles audition. At first, the audience and judges wrote her off already by just the way she looked, as she was not young and beautiful like other female stars. But as soon as she started singing, she won the hearts of the judges, crowd, and Ant and Dec shocking them enough to say to the viewing audience at home; "you weren't expecting that were you?" This goes to show that you dont need to be young and beautiful to become a successful female artist.
